"I'm not anorexic."

Um. Not quite sure what to say about this. Nicole Richie, after swearing that she was not anorexic in a Vanity Fair article, has recently checked herself into "rehab" to see "why she can't gain weight." She still won't admit to any form of eating disorder, even though photos show her dwindle from a healthy 130 lbs. to her current skeletal frame.

Silly me. I'm assuming her lack of weight gain is because she doesn't eat (or works out like an obsessed fiend after consuming 12 calories), but I've been wrong in the past. If she were not a celebutant, I think there might have been an intervention a little earlier. Here's hoping she gets some help and gains some desperately needed weight.

85 lbs. is not sexy, no matter what she thinks. What do you think?

I think it would be really nice if she admitted her disorder, got help and stood up as an example to our daughters.

Doesn't anyone care enough about her to carry her kicking and screaming into a rehab clinic? It shouldn't be that hard, since she's only 85 lbs. And another thing: Does her boyfriend really find her attractive? Ewww...

I hate to be mean but how anyone finds her body physically attractive is beyond me.

I understand some people have really thin bone structure (because I do), just like some people have really thick bone structure. But for her to say that she IS TRYING, but for some reason fails, to gain weight is hard to accept. Aside from the pictures of her at a heavier weight, we all know that if we needed to gain weight we could easily do so (over a gradual process of a few weeks) by reminding ourselves to take a bigger piece of pie and other ways of increasing our intake of well prepared but fatty foods.

I also don't see why Vanity Fair needs to an article on her but I did not read the article, so perhaps there was a reason.

She definitely has the lollipop thing going on. This photo really highlights the fact that she looks more and more pubescent, which is creepy when you think that this is become an 'ideal' body image for some women.

You know, I have looked like that also in my past (mid-twenties) and I thought I looked amazing. (I may post a pic briefly on my blog so you can see that I really had no idea how horrible I actually looked) and it was from a combination of little to no food consumption and lots of partying. The type of drugs they says she's taking lower appetite and make eating next to impossible a lot of the time. All she has to do is change her lifestyle, cutting out the drugs and she'll gain weight like crazy. I'd say she's caught up in a lifestyle that is really destructive and totally unhealthy and she has to change a lot more than just trying to increase her calorie intake.

Good point Mel. If she's truly living up the Hollywood lifestyle, all those drugs would keep your weight down. For an ex-heroin addict, she's really pushing the envelope. Once an addictive personality, always an addictive personality.

On a relevant sidebar, just read on some trashy gossip blog that NR passed out at a club the night after she went to the (apparently outpatient) rehab facility. She and Lohan were out partying and Lohan went paranoid on her arse. My guess is an eightball, but more illicit drugs may be in play...
