Holiday Merriment

Hi all! Sorry so few posts--holiday merriment abounds, as does the prep work! Spent most of the day cleaning the house (too much dog hair and dust bunnies to even discuss) and grocery shopping for my first real Christmas dinner. Only 5 guests, but would like to get through it without an incident of food poisoning...

Driving around town this evening, couldn't help but appreciate all the lovely Christmas and holiday decorations. I put up some tasteful wreaths and wrapped a garland around our lamp post--simple, elegant and nothing too flashy.

However, some people obviously just don't know when to say when. The photo above is a house on Chinoe Road here in Lex. You can friggin' see it from space. I love that these people are getting into the spirit of the season, but damn. Traffic backs up for blocks with all the gawkers and the lights are practically blinding. All I can say is thank gawd I'm not one of their neighbors. I'd turn into the grinch!

Well, off to have some more bourbon eggnog with friends. Hope you're all having lovely holidays!

xoxo,
Leigh
