I'M GETTING DUMBER AS I WRITE THIS...

If you've been paying attention, you'd know I'm sick as a wino after a week long binge, but without the joy of imbibing. I've got the funk and have been home sick for two days now. In a fit of desperation, I ordered "Just My Luck" on Pay-Per-View. I have now officially lost at least 4 I.Q. points. Take my advice--DON'T DO IT!!!

The official "plot" and stats are below, and god forbid, it actually raked in over $17 mil (wonders never cease) but it was a waste of two precious hours. Lohan did her typical not-a-girl-not-yet-a-woman routine (fake boobs at age 18 don't make you a "woman") yet again and I'm starting to wonder if the girl has any range at all. It was like "Herbie," "Mean Girls," and "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" with different actors. Lohan's monotonous and static acting is the string of dim bulbs connecting all these gems. I think it is becoming apparent (at least to me) that I must not be a fan.

I have yet to see "A Prairie Home Companion," so for her sake, I hope it's a step in the right direction. Meryl Streep could help a dead turtle act, so I'm hoping she gave Lohan some instruction. All in all, this was an unoriginal, trite, completely predictable Disney movie in a grown-up movie's clothing. (Wow. That was harsh, even for me. What do I really think? I'm blaming the cold meds...)

If anyone else saw this cinematic masterpiece, I'd love to hear your opinion...

Official Plotline:

"Ashley Albright is the luckiest woman in the world, a person to whom all the good things in life have come far too easily. She can pick a lottery ticket at random and hit the jackpot. In New York, the world's busiest city, Ashley never has to wait for a cab. And she has a terrific job as an account exec at a prestigious public relations firm. Everything goes Ashley's way. And now, she's been given a great opportunity to advance her career: she is to plan a masquerade ball in downtown Manhattan for record mogul Damon Phillips and his company.

Jake, on the other hand, is a bad luck magnet. His skies are always raining; his pants are always on the verge of splitting at the seams. His job is cleaning toilets at a bowling alley. But even a steady bombardment of catastrophes doesn't dim Jake's dreams. He thinks he may have his chance at the brass ring with his discovery of a rock band McFly. If Jake can keep his bad luck at bay for just one night, he'll sneak into a masquerade ball and get McFly's CD into the hands of music titan Damon Phillips.

On this night when dreams can be made or broken, fate brings Ashley and Jake together on the dance floor. Instantly taken with one another, they share an electrifyingly kiss--and with that one kiss, their switches places. Suddenly, Ashley's dress rips. Her heel breaks. Her good luck seems to have finally run out. Jake, in his rush to catch Phillips before he leaves, ends up saving the record mogul's life and earning with that one simple twist of fate, the chance to make all his dreams come true.

As Ashley desperately races to regain the luck she blithely took for granted, she begins to see that it's not so much having good luck but what you do with it that counts, and that her greatest chance of redemption lies with the guy who holds the key to her sudden change of fate."

I think being sick is affecting your decision making. Lol. Sorry to hear you're under the weather. I hope you have plenty of chicken noodle soup and hot tea. They are truly magical elixirs!

V. I think you're right! All those anti-biotics obviously are affecting my normally decent judgment! Although, aren't you impressed that I actually saw a movie less than a year after it's release date?!? (Sadly it takes being homebound to make it happen!)

Know you were sick recently too--pass the soup and hot tea! Hope you are back to healthy & keep in touch!

xo, L

I can't sit through anything with Linlo in it. No chance. Herbie was on the Movie Channel and I tried to watch it but I found I'd rather have all my finger nails pulled out than watch her acting. It's torturous.

I always watch cartoons when I'm unwell.

The pretty colours make me feel better.
