Sorry for being out of touch for a while. Have been inundated with family and holiday festivities in multiple states. Waiting on some hysterical Thanksgiving photos, but to keep you amused, here are some photos from about two weeks ago. These probably need some explanation, so here it goes:
My Mother-in-Law is INSANE.
I've read extensively about empty nest syndrome and as a dog owner myself, I know how pets can become akin to a child in the owner's eyes, however, my MIL has gone a little past crazy.
First, I had to pick up a Baskin Robbins ice-cream cake for the dogs. Three of the five family dogs (not counting the 3 farm dogs--yes, we are obviously dog people) were having birthdays in November. Thus, my MIL took it upon herself to throw them a birthday party. Yes, you read that right. A dog birthday party. Call Page 6 -- social event of the season.
After picking up the cake, we all met at MIL's house. The dogs got birthday hats. We actually sang them the birthday song and then each dog got a piece of ice cream cake. There was still cake left so the humans actually got to partake as well...
And people wonder why I drink.
On a positive note, at least we got some cute photos out of it and the dogs were happy. Still can't believe this is a regular practice in hubby's family. I told my mum about it and she just laughed. "You marry not just the man, but his family as well..."
Sadist part, I may just be bitter. MIL isn't planning shit for my birthday... can you feel the love?
