Photos for Broady

Can't believe anyone wants to see these, but per Broady's request, here are the best photos we've got right now of our impromptu Mexican nuptials. I need to take a hit out on the photographer we hired--he didn't even stay for the cutting of the cake! Thank gawd for friends with digital cameras!

P.S. Let's all admire Mother-Dear's Harry Winston necklace and earrings that she loaned me for my big day...I'd never steal, but boy was that tempting...

Wow! You looked beautiful. Looks like a wedding that would be right up my alley. 'Bout time you posted those pics : )

Leigh these photos are absolutely GORGEOUS. You are a lovely bride! What flowers are in your bouquet? The texture is so pretty!

It looks like you had the perfect wedding, if there is such a thing. Congrats, and thank you for posting to pics. I love to live vicariously : )

Thanks Mel & Broady! Y'all made my day! Yes, it was a lovely wedding. Still had quite a few snags--change of location one day before the ceremony, priest with malaria (that's T's dad performing the ceremony instead), etc. etc. but lovely none-the-less.

Broady--the bouquet (one of the few things that didn't get screwed up!) was made up of white roses, peonies, and orchids. The bridesmaids got white lilies, and the moms, dads, and groomsmen got different types of orchids. Very pretty and matched the orchids that were strewn on the cake. (How Martha Stewart of me!)

Anyway, thanks again y'all! I'm about to burst out into the Sound of Music... "I feel pretty, oh so pretty..."

;o)

You do indeed make a lovely bride. Congratulations to you both. You mention your "impromptu Mexican wedding". Was it really impromptu? Was it really Mexican? I ask because Slim and I are trying to decide where to wed, and a trip to Mexico is not ruled out.

Twobuyfour--Thank you.

It was "impromptu" in that we planned it in three months. We were originally planning to wed in New Orleans (Katrina ended that dream) and then T's family farm (but the crazy relatives got to be too much).

Yes it was really in Mexico--Puerto Vallarta to be exact. I LOVED Mexico. Everyone was super friendly and it was an amazing backdrop for the ceremony. My only advice would be to do it at a big resort that does weddings all the time. There are planned packages with a lot of options and they know what they're doing. One of our biggest problems was that the wedding party was in three boutique hotels--they were very lux and private--but no central coordination. The Mexican wedding planner we hired, to put it bluntly, didn't know shit from shinola, no matter how good her resume implied she was...
